| Following
a trio of killer gigs in London in September and the release of debut
single, Boy Decide, the USA's Murder By Death
return to bring their dark sultry rock n roll back to sizzle through
the winter chill. Second single ‘Brother’
with its wonderful insouciant swagger and whiskey soaked lyricism
is released here on 19th February via Cooking Vinyl.
The single is taken from their third full length album ‘In
Bocca Al Lupo’ – their first to be released in
Europe which will be out here in March 2007. Hailing
from Bloomington, Indiana, a small town in middle America, the band
are Adam Turla (vocals, guitars), Sarah
Balliet (cello/keys), Alex Shrodt (percussion)
and Matt Armstrong (bass).
Recent showcases
in London saw media and fans alike flocking to see this phenomenal
band. Murder By Death … the buzz is building….
Catch them while you can still see the whites of their eyes!
“Johnny
Cash's errant grandson"...KKKK” KERRANG!
“You
could call it a wonderful coupling of Hungarian folk and 1940s swing,
or you could say it sounds like the Clash charging into a wild west
saloon bar. Either way, it's great.”
THE GUARDIAN
“..the
sounds are big, the energy is fizzing and the faces of the crowd
veer from astonished to terrified to delighted in the blink of an
eye.. “
THE FLY
“A
performance that blends the drama of gothic theatre with whisky-induced
sinfulness…. There is dancing and cheering and wonderment,
the clinking of shot glasses full of Jack and revelry in the moment.
When they return, Murder By Death will be on much bigger stages
than this” ROCKSOUND
