MK-II (formerly known as Popstar*) make a very welcome (not to mention overdue) return to Dublin after taking some much deserved time off from gigging all around the country and beyond. With the very final stages of their debut album (nearly three years in the making at this point) set for release in the coming months and some very big things in store for the boys from the southernest pasture's of Dublin. With a lot of interested party's across the continents wanting to add their fingers to the fat 'debut release' sure to check out why there's such a hype about this pop-rock-metal quartet...

MK-II (Mark2) are a 4-piece Irish pop, rock, punk & metal band from Dublin, Ireland....influences being very far and varied, hence the wide genre labeling, with tunes ranging from "toe-tappingly good to downright excellent" (Hot Press). With a top thirty single under their belts aswell as a very successful tour around the country, MK-II have taken the time out to finish the production of their as yet untitled debut album as well as write the bulk of material for the second album...the summer looks great from here !!! So take a listen for yourself and see why it is MK-II "are being touted as the next young Irish band set to make it BIG..." (Hot Press)

MK-II's live show has received enormous praise for it's high-energy performance and the quality of music performed and have played in most Dublin Venues from Whelan’s to the Olympia. MK-II officially formed in Jan 2004 but had already been perfecting their band style and skills under the name Popstar since 2002. Popstar seemed an ironic name at the time. The name MK-II (mark2) was chosen to be a departure from the stereotypical band name and to suggest something new and improved. MK-IIs website is in it’s final stages of completion and will include an online store featuring merchandise as wells any MK-IIs commercial recordings. MK-II contribute to an unsigned band collective called “ Gigsmart” where they help raise funds to aid the collective, and include for example raising money to pay for insurance for outdoor summer gigs, special needs charities, etc.
