Cowboy X are Karen McCartney,
David Grealy and John Hanley.
Hailing from Carlow, Longford and Roscommon respectively, they
formed in 2006 in a recording studio and took their name from
an obscure Sesame Street character.
Influenced
by a blend of the Pixies, Kraftwerk
and Tori Amos and a sick sense of humour they
recorded their debut album ‘Who Are These People?’
It was released in the summer of 2006, and was very well received
by the press and radio.
Gabbi,
the first single off the album, was an electro pop smash in Ireland,
and a favourite with top radio DJs nationwide…….it’s
still being played 2 years after release! Myspace has opened doors
for Cowboy X in France, the US, Canada and Mexico
with over 44000 fans with Gabbi getting 226772
plays.
Spending most
of last year touring and perfecting their live show, the band
are back in the studio to record their new album, which is as
of yet, untitled.
Their anticipated new single, Japanese
Toy is being released in August and already looks
like its going to be another hit.
Don’t miss them at this years Electric
Picnic, where Japanese Toy and other songs off
the forthcoming album will be getting their live debut!
