Comparisons don't come easy with the Tracie Hunter Band. Brothers Neil & Mel Gabbitas on guitar and bass, Matt Pearce on guitar and drummer Steve Washington work alongside Tracie to create a sound which has been described as 'totally unique modern rock music that's gutsy, rootsy, organic, groovy, and as passionate as heck' (Powerplay magazine).
In March 2004, after over a year of hard work they released their self-produced debut album 'race'.

The band's sound combines irresistible hooks & unforgettable melodies with the more expansive leanings of guitar-oriented rock; this together with Hunter's lyrical foresight and passionate and powerful vocal delivery makes them a force to be reckoned with.
The Tracie Hunter Band have toured the UK several times as a headline act, and have opened for Ian Hunter (Tracie's father) & Dan Baird (Georgia Satellites) on sell out nationwide tours.

2002 saw the release of their critically acclaimed 4 track EP, ‘Black and Blue’.
They played Europe for the first time in the summer of 2003, with some very well received shows in Paris, and recently returned from America where they played in New York and Boston, sharing the bill with members of Aerosmith, Badfinger and the Joe Perry Project.

They are currently receiving rave reviews for their album and live shows:

‘Race is a life affirming and precious release, a contender for album of 2004. File under 'outstanding'. There's no-one out there like the Tracie Hunter Band.’ Powerplay April 2004

‘Tracie is a no-messin’ foot on the monitor rock chick who has been acquiring something of a following, a fearsome live rep and a genuine stab at chart action.’ Total Music April 2004

‘Tracie's smoky yet powerful voice is well suited to this sharp, hook-laden collection of poppy rock songs. Highlights include the muscular 'If This Is All', the naggingly insistent 'Did Me In' and stage favourite 'Astoria Morning', which ends things convincingly.’ Dave Ling, Classic Rock

‘With each consecutive play, the raw emotion of this album seems to further ooze to the surface.’ Ray Zell, Kerrang!

‘Race will completely blow away all the cobwebs in your speakers - if not blow away your speakers all together. Surely Tracie must be the finest Lady vocalist on the present rock market.’ Pattaya Mail

‘Potent, arena-rock-style tunes that show great promise.’ Boston Globe, USA
‘The most polished, tight and punchy set of little rocker gems we've heard in many a moon.’ Making Music

‘If you've ever turned off the radio wishing for something with more character and backbone, then you'll definitely want to discover the Tracie Hunter Band.’ TMFH Magazine
