Roesy, from Birr, Co. Offaly, Ireland, started writing
words at age 14. Along with a huge fascination with painting the two creative
channels grew steadily along side each other. In the end the words and
music took over the bulk of roesy’s time. Roesy spent many years
travelling, documenting in song all the sorrows and joys of life in his
unique story form, always shining through with enormous optimism.
On the way Roesy has had the pleasure of sharing stages with many legends
which includes the likes of Paul Brady, John Martyn, Freddie White, Bert
Jansch, Billy Bragg, Davy Spillane, Dick Gaughan, Donovan, and Gomez to
name but afew.
Roesy’s album ‘Sketch the day, Paint the night’ was released in February 2002 in Dublin’s Project, and has received rave reviews since. The album was produced by (ex Suede man), Bernard Butler and recorded at Edwyn Collins studio in London. The evening was a stunning live set that featured some of Irelands finest on stage with Roesy
Roesy warms the stage and hearts of his audience wherever he plays. If you’ve not yet had the pleasure of hearing this man’s particular breed of magic, put a night aside for some seriously hair-raising songs.
